Growth Mindset

As we approach a new year, I’d like us all to focus on building a growth mindset. I do not want any of you to stay rooted in a fixed mindset.

Why?

Because I know that all of us have at least one dream – at least one thing – that we all want for ourselves, our families, our children, and/or businesses.

And achieving a dream requires us to step outside of our comfort zones. Otherwise, you would have already achieved your dream!

What is a growth mindset?

First, we must give credit where it is due. The concept of a growth mindset and a fixed mindset was created by psychologist Carol Dweck. Second, a mindset refers to your attitude and belief about something.

Do You Have Self-Awareness?

Do you think you have self-awareness?

Developing self-awareness should be an important skill in our lives. The simple fact is you cannot change what you don’t know about.  If we have no self-awareness, we have no control over ourselves; we have no control over our thoughts, behaviors, habits, relationships. In essence, we have no control over our lives.

 

What is self-awareness?

Self-awareness is a skill that allows us to monitor ourselves, and in turn, monitor our lives.

Self-awareness allows us to explore and learn about who we are, what we care about. This skill helps us to learn about what makes us, us. Self-awareness helps us to identify the thoughts we have, and over time, it helps us identify our thought patterns.
