Is Anger a Negative Emotion?

June 11, 2020

Is anger a negative emotion? Is anger bad for us?

From observing people and their anger to listening to clients, I think that anger has been given a bad name. There are so many people walking around feeling as if they are bad people or just feeling unworthy because they are angry.

Our society has turned anger into a weapon and showcases it as a destructive force. These portrayals have left people terrified of facing their anger, and so some pretend that it’s not there, some give into it and become consumed by it, and others just do the best that they can to manage it.

Today, I want to discuss steps to building a healthier relationship with yourself so that you can make strides towards building abundance, legacy, and wealth in your life.

Let’s explore these steps to building a healthier relationship with yourself…

  • First, your relationship with yourself reflects the relationship that you will have with others. When you take the time to develop a healthier relationship with yourself, you will be more in tuned with your own needs and wants.
  • Secondly, when you are clearer about what you desire and what you want, you will understand more clearly what you will and will not tolerate in your life.
  • Third, when you are clearer about who you are, your sense of time and sense of value will become more concise. You will make decisions that will serve your life goals and purpose and will become more intentional about how you spend your time.

Implementing these 5 steps to building a healthier relationship with yourself will help you build a life that is more fulfilling, peaceful, abundant, and joyful. Your stress and anxiety will be reduced, and you will find that you will begin eliminating a lot of areas that you did not realize were not fueling you or making your life easier.

February 13, 2020

Systemic issues that seek to prevent building general wealth in black families will probably always exist within this country

Poverty Mentality

The Black community have suffered for so long from poverty, that many of us have developed and have become attached to a poverty (scarcity) mentality. We have generations of families that have nothing to offer the next generation which serves to continue the legacy of poverty, poverty mindset, and financial dependence.

Here we are celebrating another Black History month, and many families are still in the same financial situations as the years before. Building wealth is not the only goal for black families. But, building wealth is a necessity.

5 Ways to Improve Your Mental Health

November 14, 2019
Laughing Black Woman

To improve your mental health, you must first recognize that mental health is not separate from other areas of health. As the Bible, James Allen, therapy, and countless others have taught us, we are what we think.

Beliefs feed habits

Your beliefs, values, thoughts, and emotions are manifested in the way you behave, the practices and activities that you engage in, and the discipline and responsibility you either choose to or choose not to uphold.

If you want to improve your life and your health, then consider your consumption. Consider the things that you put into your body physically, consider the content that you listen to, and consider the people that you surround yourself with.

What Is Self-Care?

What is self-care? Self-care is any action taken to safeguard one’s health. It is that simple. Self-care does not have to be a grand gesture or an expensive gesture, it can be a quiet and personal treat. The point of self-care is to do things that fulfill, replenish, and fuel you. It is to replenish and restore all the energies, emotions, and service that you have given unto others.

Self-care is mandatory for all. No matter what our career is, we all serve others in some capacity. We all work to better the world in some manner. As adults, we transition from students to teachers in our careers and pour ourselves into our work if it is fulfilling for us. If our work is not fulfilling us, then we feel drained and exhausted by it, so self-care is still needed to replenish our souls.
