Today’s post is about digging into the broken places in your life. It’s about restoration.

I was thinking about what spiritual post I wanted to end the year with, and the word ‘restoration’ appeared in my mind. I like when the Holy Spirit talks back to me! When I thought of the meaning of this word, I thought to myself, this is what I need in my life. I don’t know about you, but I need some things to be restored in my personal life. I need God’s help to overcome some personal mountains that I’ve been combating.

Your Restoration

And for you, I want you to take a deep and close look at yourself and your life, where do you need restoration? What hurtful places do you need God’s healing in your life? In what areas of your life have you been avoiding the pain?

In what areas in your life, do you need restoration?

God wants to let you know that He wants to give you restoration. But we can’t heal what we won’t face. It is a lot easier to hide from the pain and mask the pain than it is to work through the pain. Now, I’m not saying that the work of restoration will be easy. However, what I am saying is that you cannot move forward until you’ve done the work of healing.

What is restoration?

So, what is restoration, I hear you asking? Restoration is the renewal, reestablishment, or the return of an object to its prior position or state (Dictionary.com).

How does this relate to you I hear you asking?

Well, if we take a true spiritual view of man, when we enter this world, we enter sin with our earthly birth. However, when God thought of us and instilled His purpose and image in us, He saw us as He created us to be. But upon our birth, and during our development, we lose our innocence; our faith is tested; our imagination is shunned by disillusioned people;  we begin to doubt ourselves.

So, become filled with self-doubt, fear, disbelief, insecurity, shame, and even self-loathing. But my friend, I’m here to tell you that this is not truly who you are…no, this is who the world tells us that we should be.

Digging deeper for your restoration

Today, I’m here to tell you that God wants to restore you to who He saw you as when He created you. God wants to restore you to the son and daughter that He created you to be when He sent you to earth.

GMP Family, I want you to embrace God’s vision of who you are. Even if your current circumstances do not reflect the vision that God has placed in your heart, you can still receive and believe His visions to you.

Your current dreams and beliefs in your heart are visions from God about your future. I know that they can be hard to believe, but that’s where faith comes in. Faith requires you to take God at His word and believe Him, even when you cannot see or understand how He could possibly transform your circumstances to the level of the visions that He has shown you.

Faith requires you to stay in alignment with God and His word. And if you spend time studying His word, you will see many examples of how God gave visions to people like Joseph and Abraham about their futures that they could not reconcile with their present circumstances. We are no different in these circumstances. Our dreams and visions may be different, but God remains the same.

Let’s choose faith over disbelief. Let’s choose to walk in alignment with God instead of cowering in fear. Click To Tweet

Preparing for your restoration

So, in closing, I want you to think of how you can prepare for what God is doing, and is going to continue doing, in your life. Many of us always say that we can’t start because we are waiting on God’s direction or that we don’t have the resources or that we are too afraid, but when we focus on those issues, we are focused on the distractions and making our problems bigger than God.

So, when those thoughts come – as they will – let’s focus on God and His visions instead. Focus on the visions that should be inspiration for us to keep moving forward.

Let’s choose faith over disbelief.

Let’s choose to walk in alignment with God instead of cowering in fear.

Hold onto the image of the person that God says He created us to be instead of the person that the world tries to tell is not enough.

And let’s start now on this journey. It’s not going to be easy because we will have to fight against the limiting beliefs that we’ve come to adopt about ourselves. But we can take heart that God’s word has never failed in its mission before!
